Durham’s Edible Landscaping Design Collective wants to help you use your property to grow your own food, and grow plants and flowers that are native to your area. They are against our lawn obsessed culture and wish we are just a little environmental friendly.

Bountiful Backyards is a working collective of committed gardeners with backgrounds, degrees and certificates in biology, literature, permaculture, forestry, green building , music, environmental science, economics, journalism, and organic farming.

We came together in the attempt to find meaningful, living wage work that would allow us to help restore our local environment and empower the Durham community. Rejecting our culture’s obsession with the lawn, we have designed productive and beautiful ‘edible’ landscapes that have become permanent fixtures in our neighborhoods and communities.

With the Green movement gaining speed, it isn’t any wonder that people are developing Cargo Containers into alternatives for office, and even new home, construction. There are so many unused shipping containers lying around (cheaper to make them then ship back to the place of origin) that it makes sense to reuse them for something else, ala home or office.
